At StarkSouk, we believe in a balanced work-life environment where team members are empowered to take time off as needed while maintaining professional responsibility. Our leave policies are designed to be flexible, fair, and transparent, ensuring that everyone gets the rest and support they need.
1. Paid Time Off (PTO):
At StarkSouk, we offer flexible time-off and leave policies for our team. You’re free to take the time off you need. However, we ask that you use this freedom responsibly.
Guidelines for Leave Planning:
- Work Commitments: Taking time off should not compromise deadlines or work quality.
- Extended Leave:
- For leave exceeding more than 3 days, inform your manager at least one month in advance.
- If you plan to take more than a week off during an active project, please inform your team or project lead at least one month in advance. This helps ensure that the project timeline remains on track.
- Special Events: For significant life events, such as a wedding, becoming a parent, or taking on a caregiver role, please provide at least one month's notice. This allows us to plan for any necessary adjustments in your work schedule.
- Weekly Scheduling: Every Monday, we schedule tasks for the upcoming week. If you need to take time off during the week, please inform the project lead in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
- Workload and Deadlines: While you're welcome to take time off as needed, your time off mustn’t impact the work. Deadlines must still be met, and the quality of work must not suffer. This is non-negotiable unless a critical health issue arises.
- Typical Working Days: We typically work 21-23 days per month, depending on the workload and deadlines. If there is a high workload or urgent deadlines, we will inform you in advance so that you can plan accordingly.
2. Holidays & National Holidays
StarkSouk observes 14-15 national holidays per year as per government regulations. The exact holiday list will be shared by HR at the beginning of each year.
3. Sick Leave
Unlimited Sick Leave – If you're unwell, take the time you need without worrying about leave balances. Just inform your manager, and if possible, leave a note about any immediate pending tasks.
We trust our team to take sick leave only when necessary, ensuring fairness for everyone.
4. Compensatory Off (Comp Off) Policy
If work demands extra time, including weekends or holidays, you are entitled to compensatory time during the weekday if required.
